Network of Legal Aid Providers



Mission and Members

Network of Legal Aid Providers (hereinafter referred to as Network) is the voluntary union of free legal aid providers in Georgia which ensures cooperation and coordination of activities among the members in accordance with the main objectives of the Network.
The Network of Legal Aid Providers was established on November 6, 2017; 11 organizations are founding members, which includes:
1. Human Rights Development Fund
2. Municipal Center of Legal Aid and Public Inclusion, Legal Clinical Program – My Lawyer
3. Tolerance and Diversity Institute
4. Legal Clinical Program of Free University
5. Human Rights Center
6. Transparency International Georgia
7. Legal Aid Center - "Fides et Spes";
8. Georgian Young Lawyers Association
9. Georgian Democracy Initiative
10. Legal Aid Service
11. Legal Aid Center of New Vision University
Legal Aid Service is the Chairman of Network


Main Objectives

⚪ The main objectives of the legal aid providers include
⚪ Support creation of accessible and effective legal aid in Georgia
⚪ Creation of effective and sustainable referral system of legal aid
⚪ Strengthening of cooperation and coordination among legal aid providers


Managing Committee of Network

The members of the Network managing committee are elected by the general assembly for one year term; Members of the managing committee include:
⚪ LEPL Legal Aid Service
⚪ Municipal Center of Legal Aid and Public Inclusion, Legal Clinical Program – My Lawyer
⚪ Georgian Young Lawyers Association
⚪ Legal Clinical Program of Free University


Criteria for Membership

Any nonprofit (noncommercial) legal entity or university legal clinical program, that applies to the managing committee and meets the following requirements can become member of the Network:
a. Provides free legal aid during last 2 years (representation in local or international courts, administrative body, drafting the legal document or legal consultation
b. a. Has at least 5 cases of court representation and minimum 50 consultations during last year
c. Has at least one employee providing free legal aid who is the member of Georgian Bar Association
d. Agrees and shares the objectives of Network
