The Georgian Center for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT)

On October 1, 2000 with the help of International Centre for Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (IRCT) our organization was founded in Georgia, the aim of which was to provide expert assistance to persons who were suffering from the after-effects of trauma or who have been subjected to cruel and inhuman treatment. The Georgian Center for Psychosocial and Medical Rehabilitation of Torture Victims (GCRT) is a nonprofit, nongovernmental organization that addresses the needs of traumatized communities in Georgia and offers professional tailor-made medical, psychological, social and legal services. GCRT believes that through rehabilitation and adequate treatment human dignity and integrity can be restored. Since 2000 GCRT is actively involved in the campaign against torture and successful rehabilitation of victims of torture. Since 2000 GCRT heled up to 6000 clients, which is around 600 people every year. GCRT supports all international and national campaigns against torture, inhuman and degrading treatment, with which plays key role in building healthy, nonviolent and human society in Georgia.
